Notes & Conditions
- All prices are in Japanese yen (JPY) and exclude consumption tax.
- The rates above are a guide for commissions within Japan and may vary with timing and exchange rates. For assignments outside Japan, travel, accommodation and other costs differ substantially, so a separate quotation is always prepared.
- Photography not listed here — portraits, products, events — is available on request.
- Copyright in the photographs remains with the photographer. Ordinary use — your own website, print materials and social media — is included at no additional charge.
- Please discuss secondary use, transfer to third parties and advertising use in advance.
- For shoots outside the Tokyo area, travel and accommodation expenses are billed separately.
- Cancellation: free up to 4 days before the shoot; 30% from 2–3 days before; 50% the day before; 100% on the day (see Terms, Article 5).
- Consultations and quotations are always free of charge, with a reply within 2–3 business days.
What moves a number, and what does not.
The figures above are starting points, not a menu. Three things move them: how long the building takes to photograph properly, how far it is from Tokyo, and how the images will be used.
- Floor area and the number of distinct spaces that need covering
- Whether interiors, details and twilight are all in scope, or only the exterior
- Travel and accommodation outside the Tokyo area, billed at cost rather than marked up
- Aerials, where permission and a weather backup date are required
- Advertising use, stock use, or transfer to a third party — licensed separately
- Turnaround, if the standard two to three weeks does not suit a publication deadline
- RAW processing, perspective correction and colour grading — always included
- The number of frames actually taken on the day
- Use across your own website, portfolio, print material, social media, press and awards
- Consultation and estimating, which are free
An itemised estimate is issued before anything is confirmed, and nothing is invoiced that was not on it. Payment is by bank transfer within thirty days of delivery; international clients may pay by wire in Japanese yen. The full conditions are in the terms.
