How personal information and photographic data are handled by the Studio.

TERAKAWA Photo Office (hereinafter “the Studio”) recognises the protection of personal information as a fundamental responsibility. We comply with the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information and all related laws, and we handle personal information in accordance with the policy set out below.
1. Definition of Personal Information
“Personal information” refers to information about a living individual that can identify a specific person, including but not limited to name, company name, postal address, telephone number and email address, as defined under the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
2. Collection of Personal Information
The Studio collects personal information in the following situations:
- When you contact us through our inquiry form, by telephone or by email
- When you request or enter into a contract for our photography services
- When you request a quotation
3. Purpose of Use
The Studio uses collected personal information solely for the following purposes:
- Responding to inquiries and consultations
- Preparing quotations, entering into agreements and carrying out photography assignments
- Delivering finished work and providing follow-up support
- Issuing invoices and managing payments
- Sending important notices related to your project
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
The Studio will not disclose personal information to third parties without your consent, except in the following cases:
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect a person's life, body or property
- When disclosing information to subcontractors strictly within the scope necessary to perform our services (in which case we require the subcontractor to handle the information in accordance with this policy)
5. Security Management
The Studio implements reasonable security measures to prevent unauthorised access to, and the loss, destruction, alteration or leakage of, personal information.
6. Handling of Photographic Data
Photographic data of buildings and spaces produced by the Studio is handled as follows:
- Copyright in all photographs remains with the photographer (Naoki Terakawa).
- The client may use delivered photographs free of charge within the normal scope of their business (own website, printed materials, social media, etc.).
- Secondary use, transfer to third parties, advertising use and similar uses require prior consultation with the Studio.
- For private residences and other sensitive subjects, the Studio will consult the client in advance before publishing the photographs in its own portfolio.
7. Disclosure, Correction and Deletion
If you wish to request disclosure, correction or deletion of your personal information, please contact us using the details below. After verifying your identity, we will respond within a reasonable period.
8. Cookies
This website may use cookies to improve our services and to analyse access. You may disable cookies through your browser settings. The site also uses Microsoft Clarity for anonymous behavioural analytics; no personally identifiable information is collected for this purpose.
9. Changes to this Policy
The Studio may revise this Privacy Policy in response to changes in law or other circumstances. Any revised version takes effect once it is posted on this website.
